2017 Pinot Gris
2017 was a late, cool season producing Pinot Gris with aromatic intensity, flavor and body with fine acidity to help the wine age.
Partial barrel fermentation has added texture and depth to the sweet floral and pear characters. This wine has a silky body, mouthfilling texture and a balanced citrus finish.
floral and pear characters • white stone fruit • sweet spice + honey aromas
This Pinot Gris fruit was hand picked in two passes at differing ripeness to produce a wine with fine structure and lifted fruit aromas. The earlier pick provides the tight acid and restraint with the riper pick adding body and richness. Partial barrel ferment in older barriques with weekly lees stirring over three months has given extra depth and added complexity on the palate.
The grapes for our Pinot gris are all from our Deviation Road vineyard. Situated at 550m in the famously cool Adelaide Hills. The altitude of this particular site ensures cool conditions during ripening, ideal for freshness and elegance.
Seafood or white meats + a great match with the classic roast chicken.

Balance, power, intensity of fruit, texture. All make a strong impression. It tastes of nashi pear and crisp, crunchy apple, comes feathered with honeysuckle and sweet spice notes, and has an impressive citrussy drive to the finish. Oak adds confidence more than flavour to the wine; it's a wine with its chest puffed out. 94 points. 2019 HALLIDAY WINE COMPANION
