A little about LILLET: LILLET is the Aperitif of Bordeaux, made using still white or red Bordeaux wine, fortified with the addition of fruit liqueur. LILLET has been made since its foundation in 1872, in the small village of Podensac, in the Graves vineyard area, not far from Bordeaux. Since the company was taken over by Bruno Borie in 1985, LILLET production has significantly increased with the overseas exporting. Nearly as much LILLET is drunk overseas as it is in France!
Lillet Blanc: Golden colour, with candied orange, honey, pine resin, lime and fresh mint aromas. Full bodied and rich, the eight month oak ageing process adds a unique complexity, bringing soft, mouth-filling flavour. Enjoy over ice with a slice of orange for an appetizing aperitif to your favourite dish.
Lillet Rouge: Deep ruby-red in colour, powerful aromas of fresh oranges, ripe red berries, plums, vanilla and a hint of spices. Full bodied and generous on the palate, the eight month oak ageing process adds a unique complexity, bringing soft, rich flavours with a lovely, lingering, aftertaste. Enjoy over ice as the perfect aperitif to your favourite main course! |
