2009 Reserve Shiraz
MUSEUM RELEASE
The vintage conditions of 2009 were ideal for ripening Shiraz in the Adelaide Hills, giving excellent depth and length of flavor, yet retaining signature pepper and spice characters on the nose. Fine tannins give this wonderful texture, and an earthy complexity from two years ageing in a combination of new and old French oak adds structure, balance and flavor.

Tasting Notes
The dry conditions in 2009 were perfect for ripening Shiraz in the Adelaide Hills. Hand picked over several weeks this fruit was destemmed into open-top fermenters. Once fermenting, each small ferment batch was plunged twice daily to extract colour and flavour. After a 16 day fermentation the wine is then pumped and pressed into barrel for maturation.
15 months ageing in a mixture of new and old French oak has created a complex wine with excellent aging ability. Drinking beautifully now, however cellaring will reward those with patience to wait.
Vineyard Notes
Carefully selected vineyards from warmer Adelaide Hills sites provide excellent fruit that consistently produces outstanding Shiraz with great concentration and spice.
