Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
The Mendoza clone joins with fellow clones 95 and IV 101 to produce a tightly coiled youngster of some refinement. Flinty grapefruit, lemon, white peach, nectarine, hazelnut oak and spice present a complex bouquet. There's a power to the fruit, embraced and enhanced by a nutty creaminess, courtesy of time in 60% new French oak. The wine has supped on the oak and still comes out integrated, with the additional bonus of a light savouriness. Bracing, firm finish. Jeni Port for Halliday 28/6/2022 (2021 CHARDONNAY)
